 2010- 3 children graduated from 7th grade. 2017 one of the children successfully made it through the 6 years of High School. Sr1 (8th grade) through Sr 6 advanced level of High School.

2011 - 5 children graduated this year 2 are still attending high school.
2012- 13 children graduated this year 7 are still attending high school
2013- 14 children graduated this year 18 are attending high school (we added a few new children.
2014- 21 children graduated, this year 18 are still attending high school.
2015- 22 children graduated, this year 18 are still attending high school.
2016 - 42 children graduated, we will be enrolling all of the children in high school next week.
The cost of supporting the children in High School is going up. Only 27 are currently sponsored. Please consider sponsoring a child, or we are going to have to turn some of them down. 78 Children in High School need to be sponsored, to help break the cycle of poverty

Kisoboka Academy- running water

I wanted to share this wonderful news, with all of you right away.  Thanks to a very generous donation, made last year, Kisoboka Academy now has running water!  Picture attached. (not exactly the US version of running water but an amazing blessing to the school!!)

We also have an amazing donation of lap top computer!  The 7th grade students will have a computer lab!

Dear Sponsors, Supporters and Prayer Warriors!

As 2016 is coming to closure, I want to thank you all for making so many dreams come true in 2016! Here are a few highlights from Bakka. I will be sending out a newsletter soon with updates on everything Kisoboka Uganda, Inc. accomplished in 2016.

 The year was filled with so many blessings, families had their prayers answered. Children are learning to dream about their futures, believing they can break out of the cycle of poverty. Kisoboka Academy has 460 students, with a graduating class of 52 students, we have our first High School graduate.  Next year we will have 100 students in High School.  The average education of the parents/guardians in Bakka is 4th grade.

Kisoboka Academy is in the final stages of receiving our Government certification.  This means that Kisoboka Academy will meets the Ugandan Ministry of Education requirements!  No other primary school in the village meets this requirement.
In addition Kisoboka Academy now has running water, electricity and a handicap ramp at the school!  There is still more construction needed, the floors are dirt in many classrooms, walls need plastering and the classrooms all need ceiling. These are goals to be completed in 2017.

In the community, 2 additional wells were built in the village, 6 wells in total! The villagers did not suffer during the extended drought this year.  They were blessed with fresh clean water.  Only 2 more wells are needed for every section of the village to have access to fresh clean water!

From January - November this year, Kisoboka Uganda Inc, provided funding towards medical visits and treatment for 1,504 children and parents. Total cost $7,455.00. The average cost of treatment ~$5.00.  No malaria deaths reported for any of the families in our support!

We provided extensive medical care for 17 children and adults. Some of the cases, Aisha had spinal tb, in April she could not walk, she now walking and will have spinal surgery in March. Whitney a young blind child was provided an operation and now has sight, Azid had a flesh eating bacteria, had a surgical wash and is now healed.  Sarafin had congestive heart failure and spent weeks in the hospital. Patricia has liver disease and is on treatment.

Kisoboka Academy

The school year is coming to an end. The 7th grade children celebrated the end of year and the end of their primary education. This is a major milestone in their lives. Most of their parents and guardians only attended school through the 4th grade.

 Thank you to everyone that donated dresses and shirts. Their graduation party was wonderful. I received letters and pictures, thanking everyone for the gift. Last week the children had their final activity as a primary student, the dreaded PLE (Primary Leaving Exam). The students were transported and provided food and housing to take this government required exam. Now they wait for the results, at the end of January.

 There are 52 students in the 7th grade, they all dream of going to High School. Only 12 are actively sponsored! The transport, food and housing, was not identified early enough for me to fund raise, for all the children to take the exam. The teachers and staff of Kisoboka Academy, voluntarily  were not paid last month, so all the children could take their primary leaving exam.

 Please consider sponsoring a child for their education. It is the only way to break the cycle of poverty.

Sponsoring a child!

On third of Kisoboka Academy is sponsored. Whenever we go every child at the school receives a gift. BUT when you are buying for 463 the gifts are small. The children can easily see the difference when one of their classmates is receiving a back pack filled with gifts, a bike, or goat or receive letters with pictures. It is different and the children wonder why not me. Most newly sponsored children write to their sponsor. Thank you for loving me, thank you for choosing me out of all the children. I beg you please consider sponsoring a child. I promise you you will be changing their world. When they go missing someone will care enough to ask about them. Sponsorship helps to prevent and protect the children from human trafficking/ slavery. It is a significant problem in Bakka and every remote village. Children go missing and no one notices but the helpless mom or guardian. Every visit we are told of a child taken from the village. If they were sponsored we would know about this much faster.

Overwhelming Medical Need

Uganda captured my heart.  Specifically the village of Bakka.  The conditions in the village are unimaginable. The death and disease of babies and young children we witness, breaks my heart.  

living in mud huts sleeping on dirt floors with no electricity or running water. 

The medical care we provide is growing every visit.  It is beyond our existing budget and needs extra funding.  Even knowing this hard fact, there is no way I could turn anyone away

The amount of money needed to help is so little.  In one case $125  provide medication for spinal TB  enabling a young girl walk.   $20.00 provides the funds for a doctors appointment.

.  A 5 year old child with a flesh eating bacteria, 3 year old child suffering from a stroke, 80 year old women suffering from Congestive Heart failure.   A  mom suffering  with liver damage.  A young girl being treated by witch doctors for migraines, a mom carrying her 12 year old daughter because she can't walk.  

The bill this month for extra medical care is $1800.00, a donation of any amount would be a blessing.

Kisoboka Academy Sponsorship Program

Our sponsorship program began in 2009 with 5 of the neediest students.
At Kisoboka Academy there are 380 students, 109 are actively sponsored.  Our goal is to connect every child at the school with a sponsor.
Sponsors - pay $25 per month or $300 per year

The child receives their school fees, which includes a daily meal.
The child and their family receives free medical care
The most important part of the program is the child receives the gift of HOPE, and the ability to DREAM of a future with POSSIBILITIES.
You receive their report card, letters, pictures and updates on how the child and their family are doing, and the JOY of knowing you are changing the life of a child half way across the world!

Kisoboka Academy Sponsorship Program

There are 338 children attending Kisoboka Academy  115 are actively sponsored. Approximately 1/3 of the school. This enables us to pay the staff salaries  on average a they receive a little more than $100 per month.  The teachers are thankful they are paid on time every month.  This monthly salary will never lift them out of poverty.

The children are provide a daily meal of porridge.  This meal will not end malnutrition.

Imagine what could be provided for the children, teachers and school if all 338 children were sponsored.

Christmas 2015- Kisoboka!!!

Thank you to everyone that made a Christmas celebration possible in Bakka.  Hope and Paddy , Gods faithful servants worked very  hard to make sure the children and families of Bakka felt the love of Our Lord during this Christmas Season!   Kisoboka Academy had church service that was filled to overflowing.  People were sitting on the window ledges so they could hear Paddy Walakira's sermon, For Unto us a Child was born!  The Savior of all mankind!
After the service the families attended  a special meal.

I never dreamed we would raise the funds for both the field trip and the special meal!  Kisoboka- It is possible.

December 9th the Nursery- 3rd grade will be going to the Entebee zoo
December 11th the 4th grade- 7th grade will be going on a cultural tour to 3 museums in Kampala!
December 18th will be the childrens Christmas service and special meal!

Entebbe Zoo and Cultural Centers!

We are planning 2 field trips early December.     The field trips will  bring awareness to a world outside the village.  They empower the children to dream bigger and aim higher.
3 years ago, on the field trip many students saw stairs for the first time.


Nursery students to grade 3 will go to Entebbe Zoo - cost  per child  $10.00 (180 students)

Grade 4 - Grade 7 will go to the following cultural centers.  cost per child  $10.00 (140 students)

This poem was written by one of the 7th grade students at Kisoboka Academy. It was recited to us by a group of students at the assembly.
Kisoboka!! Kisoboka!! Kisoboka!!
A community charitable organization in Bakka. Helping the poor, the needy, the disabled and the sick.
But what a mess our this planet earth?
Kisoboka faced challenges that left everyone in vein.
A challenge of corruption, water, education, medication, etc.
But now Kisoboka has achieved and Bakka is transforming.

Amongst it's aims are,
To provide quality education to measure to the national standards.
Empowering the Bakkan people to break free from the chains of poverty, also empowering the Bakkan people believe in religion that "God our father accepts us pure and faultless" "That is to say to look after orphans and widows in their distress." Biblically quoted from the book of James1:27

Bakka- 2 more wells ( bore holes)

In June our job was to determine where bore holes should be placed for future building.
Our God is so amazing we have completed the 3rd well providing fresh clean water  in the zone of Kimogo/ Konjojie last week and are in the process of completing the 4th one in zone of  Bujukko/ Musabba! 

Bakka in a month

In one month, I will be leaving for my 10th visit to Uganda since 2008.  I love the people of Bakka with all of my heart and I am looking forward to seeing them.

In June  our mission was to identify potential bore hole sites.  We visited 4 site the land was donated to Kisoboka.  This week we will be completing the 3rd bore hole in the village in the zone of Kongojie  and starting the 4th in the zone of Bujukko!  Praise God for this Amazing Blessing!

This October our focus is Education improvement. (22) seventh grade students are sleeping on a cement floor.  The students are studying day and night praying they pass the high school entrance exam.
Goal is  to raise fund for $1,200.00 for  12 double beds for the children to sleep on! We have a donation for 1 only 11 more needed.

The seeds have been planted the harvest is coming!!!

My prayer this weekend, Lord I have been planting seeds, when will there be a harvest!

 God gently pointed the Harvest is happening and it will multiply 10times!    It is dream come true! When I started the sponsorship program in 2009, my dream was to educate and train the children of Bakka, enabling them to provide for themselves.

The village average education is 4th grade.  A few parent/ guardians attended first year of High School, none had graduated.  Most reported they did not have the school fees to attend.

2015 The Harvest!

 Our first sponsored children is now an auto mechanic, earning enough money to provide for himself, while he continues training! He never dreamed of the possibility he was not a good student.  When he failed the high school entrance exam he thought he was nothing. We offered the opportunity to provide him with training.  He picked mechanics.   He is now celebrating his skills and his ability to earn a living.  Making his dream a reality cost $2,000 over 6 years 2009- 2015   His primary education – 3^rd through 7th grade and 2 years of mechanic training.

Our first candidate for College.  Peter and his grandmother still can't believe it is a possibility!  They are so grateful! Peter is studying very hard and dreaming very BIG!

Kisoboka is supporting 50 students in high school. They already have more education than most parents and guardians in the village!  They are dreaming of becoming lawyers, doctors, nurses, accountant, pilots, drivers and so much more!

Kisoboka has  (27) 7th graders preparing to take the High School entrance exam in November. These children are living at school and studying day, night and weekend without break.  The test they have to take is a government test. The schools in the Village do not have the supplies or resources to provide the standard of education the children will be tested at.  I can't imagine the stress!

2016 our High School students will grow to (77) students.

This is an amazing harvest praise God from whom all blessings flow.   

I am continuing to pray for a harvest of Sponsors one for every child. When this happens we will be able to exceed the Government requirement.
